| Piazzo | www.piazzo.it | Comm. Cav. Ufficiale Armando Piazzo has been one of the top grape producers in the Langhe
region, home of the Nebbiolo grape, for decades. The "Azienda Agricola Piazzo" has been a
supplier of grapes for some of the greatest wine makers of Piedmont. Franco, Armando's son-in-law, is the producer of these extraordinary wines. Franco oversees all operations of the wine, and does most of the bottling, filtering, and aging of the wines by hand. The vineyards of Barbaresco cover the entire side of the hill across from the Cantina. The view is absolutely breathtaking. The wines from Piazzo have won many awards year after year in Italy. These estate bottled wines are an excellent representation of the Langhe region.
The Barbera grape probably originated in the hills of Monferato, and is a local favorite of the people of Piedmont. Although this varietal is extremely popular as it is able to thrive in areas where other varietals fail, it can produce wine of extremely high quality. The wine can also be produced in a large range of styles: light and fruity, rich and meaty, oaked or non-oaked, sweet, dry, frizzante, or white. This particular Barbera is very unusual as it is derived from a single vineyard and is aged in Barriques, lending a completely new flavor and bigger body to the wine. | | Find wines from this region | Wine List Barbaresco Barbaresco "Riserva" Barbera d'Alba "Mugiot" Barbera Piemonte Barolo Barolo Riserva Dolcetto d'Alba "Scaletta" Moscato d'Asti
