This week’s wine of the week is the 2010 Shannon Ridge Cabernet Sauvignon.

Lake County California has some incredible high elevation wines, and the 2010 Shannon Ridge High Elevation Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception.    The Shannon Ridge Cabernet is a red blend; 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah.  The bouquet of ripe cherries, blackberries, vanilla and spice will certainly draw you in for a sip.  Upon tasting, you will note hints Bing cherry and plum.  This Cabernet has been aged in French and American oak to help create a soft and balanced mouthfeel and pairs quite well with barbequed and broiled meats.

If  the cool crisp air has you looking to stock up on red wines for the fall, this California Red is a great choice.
