We are happy to introduce Orchard Lane of New Zealand to our growing portfolio of international wines. Our newest additions are the Orchard Lane Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough 2019 and Orchard Lane Pinot Noir Marlborough 2020.
Orchard Lane is the little sister brand of Sugar Loaf Wines, a small family wine company in the heart of the Marlborough wine-growing region. The Orchard Lane winery lies down a long quiet lane in the heart of the Marlborough wine growing region. In an area once surrounded by apple orchards only one gnarled row remains, providing fresh apples to our winemakers over harvest. Owners David and Kate Acland, both come from five generations of farmers and growers. They farm sheep, cattle, honey and wine; a new generation has begun with their three young children involved in all of their enterprises, all with a “light-touch” philosophy on its farm and vineyards. Orchard Lane is certified sustainable, with the goal of leaving their lands in better heart than when they began.
2019 Orchard Lane Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough
WINEMAKERS COMMENT:
Sourced from two special vineyards in the heart of Sauvignon Blanc country, our 2019 Sauvignon Blanc
was fermented long and slow in stainless steel tanks, preserving the punchy crisp tropical fruit flavours and
aromas.
TASTING NOTES:
The 2019 Orchard Lane Marlborough Sauvignon
Blanc is packed with ripe tropical aromas, passionfruit
and mango. The palate is rich and rounded with crisp
hints of citrus fruits.

2020 Orchard Lane Pinot Noir Marlborough 2020
WINEMAKERS COMMENT:
Perfectly ripe fruit from two special vineyards (one situated on a hillside in the southern valleys, the other
located on a rare clay band in the Wairau valley) was hand harvested and fermented in small open top
fermenters. Hand plunged 3 x per day for 10 days then drained and pressed to quality French oak barrels for
maturation and 100% malolactic ferment.
TASTING NOTES:
Well balanced and elegant, the 2020 Orchard Lane Pinot Noir is a delicate combination of red berry, plum
and spice aromas with lightly balanced supple tannins.
